"Exercise and healthy habits can truly change your life. Trust me, I know first hand."
For me, exercise is a way of life and I’m incredibly fortunate to have a job that I love, working with fantastic clients and instructors from our studio in Tunbridge Wells. My mission is simple: I love to help people and that comes straight from my heart. All too often, I see women who have lost all their confidence, motivation, self-worth – even happiness, whether that’s through motherhood, menopause or another life event. And while most coaches and trainers will tell clients they know what they’re going through because they’ve ‘been there too’, I can tell you, I really have! When I was just ten years old, I was introduced to Weight Watchers - unaware that I needed to lose weight! Insecurities started to kick in and as a teenager, I was bullied at school and left feeling fragile and lost. Trying to cope with some major family issues, I left home at 16 and drifted through various jobs, living on people’s sofas, without any sense of belonging, purpose or worth and suffering from depression for many years. It was only when I met my husband, Neil, at 21, that I began to realise that perhaps there was something within that was worthwhile. By the time I reached my 30s, I began to uncover the ‘real me’ (largely due to finding my birth family) and everything started to make sense. It took me until adulthood to truly understand what it’s like to have someone in your corner, motivating you and encouraging you. Neil was my catalyst for change, gently pushing me to step outside my comfort zone and to do my Personal Training course. With two gorgeous sons and a job I loved, my life began to have purpose! I’m now in the fortunate position to share my passion with other people: to help them get fit, feel strong and confident - to be their best selves. Exercise is, quite simply, the best thing to help manage your mental health – it brings such positivity, it should be on prescription! I can’t tell you how much joy I get from seeing people take on board what I say and start to see the results they never imagined would be possible. There is no quick, overnight fix -it’s all about taking that first step, however nervous you might feel. That’s why I’ve built FitnAbel: an inclusive, welcoming and nurturing community of like-minded women (and a few men!) No judging, just heaps of support, encouragement and a desire to be strong, confident and healthy. So now you know a bit more about me, I hope you can trust that I genuinely have been there. I care deeply that everyone should feel good about themselves. So, if you feel unsupported or need someone to help build your self-confidence, I’m here to help. You can find out more about our classes at www.fitnabel.com and sign up now for a FREE class pass. I would love you to join me and the FitnAbel community. Ali x
